  • Andrea Fowler

I fell in love with Pilates about 10 years ago. I started taking reformer classes as a way to increase flexibility while strengthening at the same time. I noticed an immediate difference in my body. I always would walk away from my classes feeling 2 inches taller. Soon after I started running with some friends and enjoyed that as well. Pilates took a bit of a back seat while I focused on training for my first half marathon. I started noticing back and hip pain but dismissed it and pushed through the pain to the point of knowing something was seriously wrong. I met with my physician. I had herniated two discs and had torn the labrum in my hip! I learned much about Pilates in strengthening the stabilizing muscles and it’s ability to heal regain the strength needed to function through life pain free! I fell back in love with pilates and appreciated it in a whole new light. Since then I have fully incorporated Pilates into my life. I was asked by an instructor if I’d ever considered teaching and that was just the nudge I needed to sign up for Peak Pilates teacher training. I first certified in Peak Mat classes. Then went on to getting my level 1 and 2 comprehensive training through Peak Pilates. Peak pilates is known for following Joseph Pilates’ classical style and they’re also known for their expertise in teaching HOW to instruct. The pilates community is a very welcoming, kind and encouraging community. One of the best parts of teaching is seeing the difference in my client’s bodies! They feel better, they function better and they know it’s something they can do for the rest of their lives! The other great part is getting to know and love those that walk through Club Pilates door.
